The TuxTorrent was achieved by combining a hardware component, the Fox Board and a software component, rTorrent.![]()
The Fox Board is a concentrate of technology, the board large 66 x 72 mm accomodate a processor ETRAX 100LX, a 100MIPS RISC manufactured by Axis Communications. Its features include 2 USB 1.1 host ports, a 10/100 Ethernet port and two 40-pin strip everybody to expand fields of use.

The Fox Board is accompanied by Linux kernel versions 2.4 and 2.6 rebuild through free SDK, by default is supplied ready to use with pre-loaded a standars kernel with enabled support for telnet, SSH, FTP and Web server; The Fox Board can be programmed with many more programming languages such as C, C++, PHP, PYTHON. The board is equipped with 8 Mbytes of flash and 32 Mbytes of DRAM, and
needs only one power supply stabilized at 5 volts, supplied by a small
power supply. There are many projects, commercial, professional and hobby achieved with this hardware, including TuxMule e TuxTorrent.
The
software component of TuxTorrent is the Linux kernel in version 2.4
widely studied in the pages of the Fox Board and rTorrent, version
open-source, text-based of client libraries and Torrent.

rTorrent is a free code, implements as multi-platform BitTorrent client in text mode with a minimal graphical implemented through NCurses, the authors provide also the C libraries ofTorrent sadi libTorrent.
